Continuous Sliders allow you to present a visual analogue scale. The user slides a marker along a horizontal axis. The value of their response is calculated by measuring the distance of the marker from the endpoints of the axis.
To build a continuous slider you need to define the minimum and maximum values. If you choose to create two or more sliders simply input the desired number of sliders in box "# Sliders". On the mobile apps, multiple sliders will appear on the same screen. If you want them to appear on separate screens then simply create them as individual questions.
This example contains four sliders. The first row in the table corresponds with the first slider, the second row with the second slider, and so on.
The Min and Max labels are displayed at either end of the slider. The Scale Labels are displayed above the slider.
Note: Each slider needs an Analytics Code. This is what will appear as the column header in the Flat Data File. In the above screenshot, Analytics Code TEST_SLIDERS will not appear. The Analytics Codes CSLIDER1, CSLIDER2, etc, are what will appear.
Below is a screenshot of how these sliders will appear in the app. The user will have to scroll down to see multiple sliders when they share a screen.
In this survey question, the user can drag the cursor to any value on the slider and the corresponding value will be returned to the data table. The cursor is always in the middle of the slider range when the question is first presented on the app screen, as seen in the slider labeled "Salty". The user must move it in order to move forward in the survey.
