Resource Library

The Resource Library is a new mEMA in app feature that allows participants to access resources deemed important, helpful or informational to participant by the Principal Investigator and research group during a study. Resources consist of external web links, documents and media files. Resources are managed by the research group and can be assigned across study groups, individual mobile codes or dynamically based on survey responses.

    • Header - <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6>
      • Example: <h1> This is a big header </h1>
    • Bold - <b> <strong>
      • Example: <b> This is a bolded text </b>

  6. Add a link to your Resource (Optional)
  7. Add a file to your Resource (Optional)
  8. Restrictions:
    • You can only have one file per Library
    • File can be replaced at any point
    • Max file size is 100MB
    • Accepted file types are: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, txt, mp3, wav, mp4, webm.
  9. Add a baseline constraint to your Resource (optional)
  10. Baseline Constraints work the same as Baseline is working for Surveys. The only difference is that there’s no “Depends on Baseline” checkbox, but you still need to check the “Is Baseline” checkbox on the question you want your Library to be dependent on. And it only works with the Analytics code of the question, not with the ID of the question. If you don’t want your library to be dependent on a question/section/form of a survey, you can leave the field empty, and the participant will always see the Resource.
  11. To see how Baseline Dependency works please visit this HelpDesk article
  12. With Baseline Constraints you can chose to make the Resource available only during certain time intervals, or only if the survey is completed in a certain way, meaning you can make it available as long as the participant is at risk based on the survey responses, and make it go away if the same survey is responded differently and the participant is no longer at risk
  13. Click “Submit” button

How the Resource Library looks on the mobile application

The resources will be accessible by a new home page menu item named for example “My Resources” or “My Resource Library” underneath the My Assignments menu item in the mEMA Android and iOS apps. This menu item could be turned on or off using a permit group depending on if a study provides resources. If a new resource is added a (NEW) badge will appear to the right of menu item. When tapped a list of resources will be presented to the participant. The resources and titles are controlled by the PI. An icon next to the resource title indicates which type it is: web link, document or media file. When the resource title is tapped the resource will open. Documents and media files will be opened inside the app. Web links will be opened in an external web browser to get around X-Frame-Options deny issue.
